SECURE yOUR TICKET TO SUCCESS By ATTEnDInG CPA AUSTRALIA’S 2009 GRADUAtE cAREERS coNfERENcE BEInG HELD AROUnD AUSTRALIA cPA Australia’s Graduate careers conference calendar 2009 the resources you need to take those first steps toward your new career. W 12 Employers will showcase the graduate positions they have on offer and outline what they are looking for in successful applicants. There will also be an opportunity for students to speak one-on-one with employers and to obtain job-seeking advice. The conference will include sessions designed specifically for Australian students and international students. Australian students can ask employers the tough questions about how much graduates get paid and how quickly they can get promoted during a speed networking session. International students will have the opportunity to attend a session on how to be successful in the Australian job market. This session will also identify the differences between workplace cultures worldwide. Students who attended the conference last year found that it “provided a great platform HETHER you are studying, set to graduate in 2009, or have already graduated, this information-packed conference will give you all for networking with potential employers” and “prepared [them] for the future and what [they] need to do to get ready”. Following each conference, a cocktail networking session will give you the chance to ask last-minute questions, network with employers and make an impression that lasts. One student who attended last year said: “The whole conference made me feel less panicked about my future; I feel more prepared now.” All students or graduates are welcome to attend, however, you must be a registered CPA Passport student. Registering as a CPA Passport student is free. When you join, you will also have access to a range of resources, networking opportunities, study support, ongoing training and internship programs.
